"My class and I loved Discovery Day. The activities were engaging, and I felt like there was something for everyone. I enjoyed the fact that the kids did not have to visit a station if it didn’t interest them. There were some fabulous opportunities for teamwork and problem solving either independently or as a group. The instructors were very clear and helpful. They asked great questions to really challenge the students’ ways of thinking. "

ELECTRIFYING ENERGY

Bring unique
hands-on STEM learning experiences to your classroom

Electrifying Energy is a set of two in-class workshops for Grade 6 classes. We use hands-on experiments to teach students all about electricity.

The program is designed to support the “Electrical Phenomena, Energy, and Devices” unit of Ontario’s Grade 6 Science and Technology curriculum. Classes will complete both 1-hour workshops on the same day.

CLIMATE CHANGE

How do we talk to students about climate change?

Hands-on experiments and interactive games help grade 7 students explore the greenhouse effect, climate solutions, and Canada's vision for a net-zero future.

Helping create the next generation of climate scientists, this program aligns with Ontario's grade 7 curriculum unit "Heat in the Environment".

ENERGY CO-OP

Want to make an impact on the next generation of skilled trades workers?

Jobs in Canada’s clean energy sector are predicted to grow nearly four times faster than the national average over the next decade. How do we answer this call? With creative ideas to engage and train future workforces.

In a traditional co-op, one student is placed at one employer for one term. At the NII Explore Energy Co-op, students get the chance to experience the breadth of jobs in the energy industry, with hands-on training in nearly 30 different careers during the 17-week program.
